To start off, "viral marketing" isn't something that you can guarantee, as it completely depends on how the audience-at-large reacts and shares the content. It's a common misconception that sharing a clip from an account with millions of followers is viral marketing - it's just reaching an already-established fan base, which has nothing to do with viral marketing.
To truly make something go viral, one should look for areas of life, business, art, comedy, etc. that either haven't been connected with in a viral fashion yet or haven't been connected with recently. One should look into recent trends and try to find out what the next trend could be, or possibly piggy-back on a trend that is going on right now.
For example, you could create comedic skits featuring a band and their reactions to music or politicians from other countries. (Reaching niche audiences, especially if they're trying to expand overseas.)
Another example could be adding wheels to random objects and riding around (for comedic effect) on them in safe areas.
The key with viral marketing is to create something new or remixing what has been done before in highly-shareable forms to get your average person to share the content, and not focus on those who are already popular.
