Former professor at Tufts University with decades on Wall Street
Y= X2+2X+1 = (X+1)2
So. Take square root of both sides and get Y(1/2) = X+1 or X= Y(1/2)- 1
Hope this helps

asked 07/17/19This is the original problem and I need to solve for the inverse of it. I know I change the x's to y's and vice versa and solve for y, but I don't know how to do that.
