I guess you would have to elaborate on what you mean by "safer"? Safer in what respect? Any business you start will have varying degrees of risk and you will have to do marketing of one kind or another to promote your business no matter what it is. If you could give me some examples of the businesses you have in mind, I could give you my input as to the level of risk you'd be taking and what some of your considerations might be. One of the greatest factors in determining the amount of risk there is whether you'll be dealing with a tangible or tangible product and what the start up costs will be.
