How are radical functions similar/different to linear, quadratic, or exponential functions?

If you take

y=xⁿ

and compare it with

y=ⁿ√x

you'll find that one is a reflection of the other through the line y=x

(missing half in the case of even n, since radical functions need to have at most one y value for each x value)
