Bored piles in shallow groundwater table (assuming the soil is sandy or silty) would have to be drilled with drilling fluid denser than water, which would be displaced by the concrete. This would be awkward. Driven piles would be simpler, as long as the concussions would not disturb the soil to such an extent that the frictional strength and cohesion to the pile would be altered.
