2005 the salary was $70,000
2006 the salary was $82,00
$82,000 minus $70,000= $12,000, which represents the annual increase.
So we have y = mx + b
b= the constant(what value did you start with?)
x= the number of years which will change
m= represents increase which is slope
y= annual income which will vary depending on the x-value
