Using a 24-hour clock, noon (12pm) reads as 12:00. This time reads 20:15. Subtract 12 hours from 20:15 and you are left with 8:15. ( 8 hours and 15 minutes).

Now just multiply 8 hours x 60 minutes per hour = 480 minutes.
Now add the remaining 15 minutes. 480 + 15 = 495 minutes

 

495 minutes have past since noon.
