So green gold is 3 parts gold and one part silver. We must assume that 3:1 is the mass ratio. So, if the GG has a mass of 56g, 3/4 of that is due to the gold. So the mass of the Gold is 3/4(56) = 42 grams.
To check our answer, we can add the mass of the gold (42 grams) to the mass of the silver (1/4)56 = 14 grams to get the total mass of 14 + 42 = 56 grams!
