Using the substitution or elimination method, find x and y:

line 1: Y -3X= -4
line 2: Y + X =0
and then next i need to find out what is the eqation of a line parallel to line 1 through ( 2, -2)

whoops, forgot the second part--when you have the x and y values, then find another pair by changing x (for example, make it x + 1) in the first equation and seeing what y becomes. Graph both points and draw a line through them. Then graph (2, -2) and one other point to create the parallel line.
