Perfect tense to describe future events?

Can we instead use the present > (a) ..., bis sie den Hergang der Ereignisse am Montagabend rekonstruiert. or the future perfect > (b) ..., bis sie den Hergang der Ereignisse am Montagabend rekonstruiert haben wird. ?

This would imply that no effort has been taken yet: the process has not started.

(b) ..., bis sie den Hergang der Ereignisse am Montagabend rekonstruiert haben wird

This would work, but even though "rekonstruieren" can be a process, here it is meant as a result of an investigation. So at one moment in time (state) the "Hergang" will be "rekonstruiert".

The grammatical oddity is at another place in this sentence. In my mind it should be "vom Montagabend" rather than "am Montagabend". Using "am" might be another reason for the chose time. Your version "..., bis sie den Hergang der Ereignisse am Montagabend rekonstruiert haben wird" is ambiguous, as it could mean that the result will be in on Monday.
