What are these letters doing in my equations? Here comes algebra!
Hi Lynne--
So you'll need two numbers whose difference (subtraction) is 15.
m - b = 15
and also, m is 6 times greater than b
m = 6b, and THIS is our biggest friend. If m = 6b, you can put 6b where ever you see m.
So 6b - b = 15, or 5b = 15, which means...
b = 3
and since m = 6 x b,
m = 18
Hope this helps!
