He walks very fast!
Make a fraction for the distance / time
You can make 2-2/3 into a decimal so it might be easier. 2-2/3 = 2.6667
So, 2.6667 miles / 10 minutes
The miles are good on top, since you want miles per hour (per means divided by, or fraction)
But the minutes in the denominator are not good, you want miles.
So multiply your fraction by (60 minutes / 1 hour) --- this is actually = 1, since 60 minutes = 1 hour, so you are not changing the numeric answer of your fraction, just the units.
So, (2.6667 miles / 10 minutes)*(60 minutes / 1 hour)
The minutes cancel out and you get miles per hour
(2.6667 / 10)*(60 / 1 ) = 16
16 miles per hour .... a very fast runner, and a world record!
