Quadratic functions (where the largest exponent is x2) usually look like ax2 + bx + c, where a,b,c are the numbers/coefficients in front of each term.
In this problem, a = -4, b = 0, c = -20.
When looking for the vertex we first find the x-coordinate. The formula for this is -b / 2a = - (0) / 2(-4) = 0. So the x-coordinate of the vertex is 0.
To find the y-coordinate, we plug the x = 0 into the equation given: y = -4(0) - 20 = -20.
The vertex is (0, -20).
