Let x = number of liters of pure acid that is added to the solution.
(acid content of pure acid) + (acid content of 10% acid solution) = (acid content of mixture)
acid content = (concentration)(number of liters of solution)
So, 1.00x + 0.10(90 - x) = .94(90)
x + 9 - 0.10x = 84.6
0.90x + 9 = 84.6
0.90x = 75.6
x = 84 liters
ANSWER: add 84 liters of pure acid to 6 liters of 10% acid solution to obtain 90 liters of solution that is 94% acid.
