I'm guessing you're solving the systems of equation. The first thing you want to do is look if there are any terms you can eliminate and you can. Subtract the two equations so

5x+y=15

3x+y=11

 

2x=4

x=2

Plug in 2 to either equation from above. 5(2)+y=15 so y=5

and your answer should be

(2,5)
