If we use the equation y=mx+b and plug in the values we know, we can solve for the y intercepts
Plug in values and simplify
3=2(-1)+b
3=-2+b
Add 2 to both sides and simplify
3+2=-2+b+2
5=b
So the equation is
y=2x+5
