I would really like some intelligent input on ancient stone cutting, any ideas how they did this? The laser like cuts are astonishing

Often the astonishingly precise cut stonework at archaeological sites is actually achieved through sanding. Blocks of stone would be hewn as close to the desired shape as possible with stonecutting tools, and then the remaining excess would be laboriously buffed away to achieve the smooth laser-like precision that baffles so many people today.
