LIDAR is okay at seeing through semi-permeable things like clouds and foliage, but I'm afraid sand will look like any other ground surface, and windblown sand on a plateau is bad at reflecting the profiles of things buried beneath it the way regular dirt can on LIDAR. The Giza plateau is also one of the most thoroughly explored and excavated areas of Egypt , so it's unlikely that there's any second secret statue near the Sphinx. If there is, it's not in nearly the same scale or condition as the current Sphinx.
