Combine like terms, real with real, imaginary with imaginary.
(2+7i)-(4-8i)
2 and 4 are real
2-4= -2
7i and -8i are imaginary
7i-(-8i)=15i
Standard form is real then imaginary
-2+15i

combine k=like terms gives you 2-4=-2 and 7i-(-8i)=15i
