What is the difference between sql and mysql?

I am new to databases and I was wondering: What is the difference between *SQL* and *MySQL*?

SQL is the database language used to build relational database objects and access/manipulate data.

MySQL is one of the database engines that uses SQL to perform those tasks (as do most other relational database engines such as SQL Server, DB2 and Oracle.)
