Using elimination, if we multiply the top equation by -8, and the bottom equation by +7, we can eliminate the variable y.
184x + 56y = 872
-147x -56y = -798
Add vertically and the y's cancel each other, leaving
37x = 74
Divide both sides by 37, and find that
x = 2
Now plug x=2 into either of the original equations to find y.
Using the bottom equation: -21x - 8y = -114
-21 * 2 - 8y = -114
-42 - 8y = -114
Add 42 to both sides
-8y = -72
Divide both sides by -8 and get
y = 9
So the ordered pair solution is
(2, 9)
