Prove (x^2)/(x+1) diverges

Question

I was considering assuming that it converges. This would then mean that I could say is is bounded and get a contradiction... But is isn't working out. I think I am getting bogged down with the algebra..? Any suggestions?

If you mean the lim as x -> ∞, it diverges because if you divide numerator and denominator by x, you will see why immediately.

But since you have not specified what the limiting value is, I can't answer your question unequivocally.
