The length of this line is the absolute value of one point minus the other point.
1st case: |(-6) - (1)| = | -6 - 1| = | -7 | = 7
2nd case: |(1) - (-6)| = | 1 - (-6)| = | 1 + 6 | = | 7 | = 7
The answer is 7
