logx(44) = y
if it's a natural log then ln44 = y and e^y = 44, y=about 3.78.
e^3.78=-44. e is a little less than 3. 3^3 = 27. It's in the right range of values. just take a calculator and put in 44, then punch the ln tab to get 3.78
logx44 = y IF it's a common log, to the base 10, then 10^y = 44.
y = about 1.64. 10^2 = 100, 10^1 = 1. 10^1.5 = 10sq10 = 31.6. 10^1.64 should be about 44.
Answers are ln44 = 3.78, log10(44) = 1.64
