You can format individual cells in Excel by changing that cell's Font/Font Style/Size, using border and shading techniques, or applying pre-formatted Style Accents (Tool Bar). Basically, any formatting features offered in Excel can be applied. For multiple-cell standouts, use Conditional Formatting (Tool Bar).
Please be more specific. There are many ways to highlight or draw attention to a cell in Excel. What exactly do you mean by "stand out"?

From a visual standpoint, changing the background color is usually the most effective way to easily catch someone's eye with a cell. If you have information in cells that may change, using Conditional Formatting is a great way to still make cells stand out when they match certain criteria (value greater than 3 for example)06/12/19
