Assuming you mean, f(x) = (x^2 - 25)/(x+5), then we have a removable discontinuity.
f(x) = (x+5)(x-5)/(x+5)
= x-5 <--- x+5 cancels
So it is now simply the line y = f(x) = x-5
You can plug the values you have listed for x into the function y = f(x) = x-5 to complete your table
They are:
X y
-7 -12
-6 -11
-5.5 -10.5
-5 -10
-4.5 -9.5
-4 -9
-3 -8
SOme older function plotters that do not simplify the function (this removing the discontinuity) will
still graph the line but with an open hole at x=-5 showing the removable discontinuity
