Hi Brayan S.!
I'm glad you asked. Folic acid is an important supplement that women take during pregnancy, and is often recommended as part of a multi-vitamin complex. The recommended dose is 4mg (or 400mcg) daily while pregnancy per the CDC. So to answer your question: I have worked in maternal units where the recommended dose was 400-600mcg daily during pregnancy, which is why you might be thinking there is a range of acceptable doses.
During the period of conception the advice is generally the same, however I would advise anyone reading this to speak with your personal provider or gynecologist to find out how much you should take while trying to conceive. You can find out more information here: https://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/folicacid/recommendations.html
Have a great day,
Marisa
