Greetings! Lets solve this shall we ?
So, we must find out what x and y are to the nearest tenth. Then, we multiply the first equation by -3 to cancel y first solving for x such that
-15x - 6y = -6
-2x + 6y = 3
-----------------------
-17x = -3
x = 3/17 = 0.2
Now we plug 3/17 into the first equation such that
5(3/17) + 2y = 2
15/17 + 2y = 2..............Subtract 15/17 to both sides such that
2y = 2 - 15/17............Common denominator is 17 so 2 - 15/17 = 19/17. Then
2y = 19/17.........Divide 2 such that
y = 19/17(1/2) = 19/34 = 0.6
I hope this helped!
