At one performance they sold $180.00 worth of hot drinks. If they had used 175 cups total for hot drinks that night how many cups of coffee did they sell?

.05(175) +.45c = 180

.175/20 + .45c = 180

8.75 + .45c = 180

.45c = 180- 8.75 = 171.25

c = 171.25/.45 = 17125/45 = 3425/9 = 380 5/9 coffee cups

check the answer

.05h + .45c = .05(175) + .45(3425/9) = 8.75 + .055(3425) =8.75+ 171.25= 180

that 5/9 of a cup though is problematic. could be a problem with the problem, a mis print or typo

or they sold that partial cup for 5/9x.45 =5x.05 =.25 = a quarter, big sales discount
