the drive from aurora to benedict is 65 miles shorter than the drive from benedict to central city, but 125 miles farther than the drive from central city to deshler. If the total distance of the trip is 1,110 miles, find the length of the central city to deshler part of the trip.

This is how you solve this problem:

Step 1. The trip is separated into 3 parts, AB, BC, CD.

Step 2. AB= BC-65

Step 3. AB= CD+125

Step 4. BC-65=CD+125, therefore BC= CD+190

Step 5. The whole trip is 1110, therefore AB+BC+CD= 1110.

Step 6. AB+BC+CD= 1110

(CD+125)+(CD+190)+CD= 1110

CD+CD+CD+125+190=1110

3CD+315=1110

3CD=795

CD=265
