I'm assuming you're writing those terms as coefficient/variable/power:
-5x2(-3x2 - 2x3)
You have a monomial multiplied by a binomial; you need to use the distributive property to simplify. To do so, multiply the outer factor by each term of the binomial and simplify:
(-5x2) * (-3x2) - (-5x2) * (2x3)
= (-5*-3)(x2*x2) - (-5*2)(x2*x3)
= 15x4 + 10x5
The degree of the polynomial is the highest exponent present in any term. What's the highest power you see here?
Terms are numbers and variables separated by + or -. How many terms are here?
