Find the length of each side

Question

The perimeter of a triangle is 52 feet. One side of the triangle is 6 feet longer than the second side. The third side is 1 foot longer than the second side. Find the length of each side.

second side= x

first side = x +6

third side = x+1

 

so perimeter = addition of all sides

             52 = x+x+6+x+1

 

             52 = 3x+7

              45 =3x

              x =15

 

second side= x = 15 feet
first side = x +6 = 21 feet
third side = x+1 = 16 feet
