Question

A truck can be rented from Company A for $70 a day plus $0.30 per mile. Company B charges $40 a day plus $0.50 per mile to rent the same truck. How many miles must be driven in a day to make the rental cost for Company A a better deal than Company B's?

Cost for A = 70 + .3m

Cost for B = 40 + .5m

For A to be a better deal: 70 + .3m < 40 + .5m

30 < .2m i.e. m > 150
