y = -2x + 7,  passes through (4,3)

 

any line perpendicular to the given line will have the slope of -1/m. In this case, (-1/-2 or 1/2)

 

we use y - y₁ = m(x  - x₁).

 

We use 1/2 for m and the given points (4,3)

 

so,

 

y - 3 = (1/2)(x - 4)

 

y = (1/2)x -2 + 3

 

so,

 

y = (1/2)x + 1
