The first thing that you must do is solve for x:

 

-4x-2= -x+ 3        Add 2 to both sides

     +2       +2

  -4x  = -x + 5       Add x to both sides

    +x     +x

     -3x = 5.           Divide both sides by -3

       x  = - 5/3

 

If this is to be graph, draw the number line and put a dot on -5/3 or -1.67.
