A tank is 7/12 full of water. After 50 litres is used out of the tank it is only half full. What is the capacity of the tank in litres? please show working, thank you.

Let T = volume of tank

 

It's 7/12 full now and when 50 L is removed it's 1/2 full

 

⁷/₁₂ T - 50 = ¹/₂ T
