he plans for a shed call for a rectangular floor with a perimeter of 240 ft. The length is two times the width. Find the length and width.

Length=l feet

Width=w feet

The perimeter of a rectangle: 2(l+w) feet

Given l=2w

So, the perimeter will be 2(2w+w)= 6w=240

w=240/6=40 feet

l=2w=80 feet

The length is 80 feet and the width is 40 feet.

width = x

Perimeter = 6x = 240.

x=40
