A monomer is a single unit. A polymer is made up of many monomer units. Examples: an amino acid would be a monomer (single unit). Hook a bunch of amino acids togetherto make a polypeptide/protein (polymer). Or a monosaccharide/sugar would be the monomer. Hook a bunch together to make a polysaccharide (polymer).
