Dirst off, I don't think it's miles saved, but time. Anyways, here's what we know:
D = rt (Distance equals rate * time. Isolate time, and we get...)
D/r = t
Plug in the walking variables:
1.1 mi / 2 mi/hr = 0.55 hours
Now for the bike riding:
1.1 mi / 5 mi/hr = 0.22 hours
I'm sure you can subtract the two numbers from here.
