I hate to beg to differ with the previous tutor, but isn't this sequence decreasing:

 

1. 10³ = 1000

2. 10² = 100

3. 10¹ = 10

4. 10⁰ = 1

5. 10^-1 = 0.1

6. 10^-2 = 0.01

7. 10^-3 = 0.001

8. 10^-4 = 0.0001

9. 10^-5 = 0.00001

10. 10^-6 = 0.000001

11. 10^-7 - 0.0000001

12. 10^-8 = 0.00000001

13. 10^-9 = 0.000000001

14. 10^-10 = 0.0000000001

When you are solving a geometric sequence, look for a pattern of a number we are multiplying. In this case, we can say we are multiplying by 10.

 

Term 1      1 x 10 = 10

Term 2     10 x 10 =100

Term 3     100 x 10 = 1,000

Term 4     1,000 x 10 = 10,000

Term 5     10,000 x 10  = 100,000

Term 6     100,000 x 10 = 1,000,000

Term 7     10,000,000 x 10 = 10,000,000

Term 8     10,000,000 x 10 = 100,000,000

Term 9     100,000,000 x 10 = 1,000,000,000

 

As we follow the pattern to term 14, our final answer is 100,000,000,000,000. This can also be converted to scientific notation!
