Question

A sink has two faucets:one for hot water and one for cold water. The sink can be filled by a cold water faucet in 33 minutes. If both faucets are open, the sink is filled in 22 minutes. How long does it take to fill the sink with just the hot water faucet open?

1/33 + 1/h = 1/22

 

Once we apply the common denominator, we don't need it.

 

2h + 66 = 3h

h = 66 minutes
