There is a 70% chance that your car will get stuck in the snow during the next big snowfall. Given that you are already stuck in the snow with your car, the chance that you will require a tow truck to pull you out is 90%. What is the chance that you will get stuck in the snow with your car AND require a tow truck to pull you out?

Step 1: List given values:
P(Stuck) = 0.70
P(Tow) = 0.90
P(T|S) = 0.90
P(S∩T) = ?

Step 2: Rearrange above formula to solve for P(∩T) :
P(S∩T) = P(T|S) * P(S)

Step 3: Input values:
P(S∩T) = 0.90 (0.70) = 0.63

Step 4: Multiply by 100 to get the percentage:

0.63(100) = 63%

Answer: P(S∩T) = 63%
