There is not enough information to solve this problem.
V is the original velocity in kilometers per hour....
It travels for 1.5 hours at that speed, so it went 1.5V km
It then traveled the remaining 225-1.5V at speed of V+10
Let T be the total time....
then T = 1.5 + (225-1.5V)/(V+10) + 1/2 <--- time at slower speed is 1.5 hours;
time at faster speed is the fractional expression
PLUS the half hour of time LOST when they stopped
If you know the total time, you can then find V by solving the
last equation...
otherwise we need to know the distance traveled in either portion
of the cruise...
