solve the problem

mangoes cost X dollar for the first 1.5 kg. All amount in addition to first 1.5 kg cost 50 dollar per kg. How much does it cost to buy total 5 kg mangoes?

its like an mcq ques... and the ans was like
A. dollar (x+150)
B. dollar (1.5x +150)
C. dollar (x+175)
D. dollar (1.5x+175)
E. dollar (1.5x+50x) so what would be the ans? :( m really confused

it does say there is a special price for the 1st 1.5 kg and it seems it is called X

Phillip pointed out a point that I missed that X represented the initial cost of the 1st 1.5 kg.  If you use his correct figure of $175 for the next 3.5 kg you would represent your cost for 5 kg as:  X + 175.
