Hi Kim
In order to combine "like" terms, first multiply out the 3(4 + 5n) using the distributive property, so it becomes:
12 + 15n
Then combine the n terms by subtracting the 6n, so you have:
12 + 9n
And that's it! Combining like terms just means grouping all the numbers that have the same variable (in this case "n") and then doing the same for the plain ol' numbers.
If you had a longer one with, say, x, y, z, and n terms, you'd have to do a lot of grouping and combining.
