Find three consecutive integers such that the sum of the first, two times the second and one half the third add up to 24

n + 1

n + 2

 

Then

 

n + 2(n + 1) + (n + 2)/2 = 24

 

Solve for n.

 

(1 + 2 + 1/2)n = 24 - 2 - 1

 

(7/2)n = 21

 

n = (2/7)(21) = 6

 

The 3 integers are

 

6

6 + 1 = 7

6 + 2 = 8
