Parallel to x+2y=6 through (1,-5)
Note: slope of ax+by=c is -a/b.
Parallel lines have the same slope.
The slope of x + 2y = 6 is -1/2
We have slope m=-1/2, and point (1,-5).
Point slope form: y - y1 = m(x-x1)
y-(-5) = (-1/2)(x-1)
y + 5 = (-1/2)(x-1)
If you need this in standard form of ax +by = c, then
2(y+5) = -(x-1)
2y + 10 = -x + 1
x + 2y = -9
