building lot A requires $50,000 down plus an additional $100 per square foot. Building lot B requires $60,000 down plus an additional $50 per square foot. What size lot would make the two lots the same price?

50000+100x = 60000 +50x

10000=50x

x=10000/50=200 square feet

50,000+100(200) = 60,000 +50(200)

50,000 + 20,000 = 60,000 + 10,000

70,000 = 70000

both cost 70 thousand with 200 square foot lots
