Hi Al from Chicago, IL. Hope you're having a great weekend.
I'll help you with some examples, however, you will need to make sure you understand what the problem is asking you to do. This means you will need to know what the terms 'sum' and product', and most importantly equation.
The first part of you problem tells you you have the sum of 2 positive numbers which is 62. Do you know what this means? If you don't then that is the real problem, not knowing what these terms mean. If you don't it will be difficult to continue.
I will help you with what you need to proceed, however, if these terms are not something you understand, you will need to make sure you begin to get as many of these Algebra terms understood...difference between expression and equation. Variable and constant. Sum, difference, quotient and product.
So, here is the beginning...your problems states you have 2 positive numbers where the sum is 62. This means when you add 2 positive numbers together, the answer will be 62. Now this could be any 2 numbers, let's say, (x) and (y) so when you put them in and equation:
(x) + (y) = 62
so you job is to pick 2 number, so when you add them together the answer will be 62.
Now, you're ready for the next part.
You should be able to do that.
