g = number of girls
b + g = 40
g = 2b-5
Using substitution replace g with 2b-5 in first equation and solve for b
to find the number of boys
b + 2b-5 = 40
3b - 5 = 40
Can you finish solving for b to find the number of boys?
Then use g=2b-5 to find the number of girls.... Or subtract the
number of boys from 40 to find number of girls
